Problem with EdTech.

The Problem with EdTech:
What They Found is Disturbing.

The Internet Safety Lab reviewed the most common applications used in
schools across the United States. This is what they found:

96% of EdTech applications share your children’s personal data with additional third parties without your consent or knowledge.

In a sampling of 25 mandatory apps, 56% were scored as “Do Not Use,” and an additional 24% were scored as “High Risk", meaning only 20% are safe.

75 % of EdTech applications expose your children's location, usage, and personally identifiable information to additional parties without any consent.

It's time to change this.

But.

But EdTech helps my child learn Better, right?

While often promoted for improved learning, the reality of EdTech is different. Simply adding technology doesn't guarantee better outcomes, and can even hinder development.

“There is little robust evidence on digital technology’s added value in education” and a lot of the evidence that does exist “comes from those trying to sell it.”
