When a school of fish swimming in the ocean wants to change direction, it takes one first fish to start the shift, but requires a second and third and fourth fish to follow before the rest of the school will come along. 

As we reconsider the role technology plays in our lives, especially in education, we are seeing change start to happen because a few courageous leaders are swimming out to meet the moment and inspire others to follow.

Change isn’t coming; it’s here, but we need to spread the good news about courageous school leaders and parent advocates and politicians who are leading this charge– serving as the first fish in their communities who swim out, test the waters, turn around, and invite others to follow. These actions are significant to bigger changes– but curious and more hesitant second and third fish are waiting in the wings, and they need to see what’s possible.
